Reptiles are cold-blooded animals, they live in both land and water, they have scales on their body for protection, reptiles don’t have their own body temperature they adapt cold and hot temperature from the environment. There are 6500 species of reptiles in the world.
Types of Reptiles
There are four types that are classified into:

This type includes lizards, snakes and worm-lizard. Chameleons, alligator lizards, blind lizards, legless lizards  these all belongs to this group.

Sand is sometimes dangerous for lizards because the lizard uses tongue to eat or sense their surroundings so in this way sand ingest in their body and it can cause illness because it could not digested easily.

The temperature is one of the necessity for reptiles, As it plays an important  role in reptile’s life. Their body temperature is what they absorb, let suppose if they absorb cool so their body temperature seems cool and the same will go with warm. Most of the reptiles need the both temperature but other may not.

One of the basic need is calcium for reptiles so you have to know about their breed when buying.  Every reptile has different requirement of calcium, some need calcium regularly, some needs rarely and breeding females need calcium heavily.

The other need is Humidity, it is important to know that where is your reptile native from? Some species do not need water others do live in water, so you can provide the humidity with your reptile need. You can place a system that sprays time by time or you can spray your pet by yourself as his requirement.

Choice of food is also a basic thing if you are a reptile keeper. Lizard should be fed with vegetables and fruits. But the snake needs small mammals or things according to their habitat and nature.

All the above things have to be remembered if you are trying to keep reptile as a pet and some basic information is necessary,  if you feel that your reptile pet is behaving differently ,inactive or avoiding food so don’t waste your time and visit to a vet.
There are few stages of raising a reptile.

Pet reptiles should not be left for children to take care, adult should keep an eye on reptiles because this supervision is necessary.
Reptiles need more care than any other pet.
Reptiles transmit parasites and bacteria to other pets.
Few snakes grow larger so these are dangerous to keep as a pet.
Few Reptiles love to climb so providing them artificial trees or igloo like thing so they could hide their selves.
Make sure that you are giving a warm bath to your reptile within a week.

Snakes, leopard gecko, bearded dragon and turtles or tortoise are the best reptiles to keep.

Turtles or tortoise:

They live in water such as rivers and ponds so they can be placed in a glass aquarium. They can be handled or lifted with the midsection. They need a big space to roam. They eat shrubs, grass, vegetables But they have sharp jaws so they can crush a hard thing easily and sometimes they could be poisonous.

They need substrate (bedding) along with 20 gallon terrarium (maximum).  There temperature, food, lightning should be according to their habitat from they are native.

Bearded dragon:

They have friendly nature, they have sleeping cycle like Humans, they are active at day time and sleep at night. They need a little big terrarium as turtles and tortoises. If your pet is new at your home so try to give him 3-4 days alone because animals also need time to adjust at new place.

Leopard gecko:

They have dots on their body like leopard. They need a ventilated home and a big space. Try to provide them the substrate of calcium sand, because a small gecko could ingest sand and it can cause danger for your pet.
